Description:

DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Senior Manager IT Systems, the successful candidate will participate in software development, enhancements, maintenance releases and the support of internal & external applications including our internal Accounting, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and GS1ca systems. He or she will be expected to collaborate closely with various software development and support teams, and other departments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment are extremely important for this role.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc);
  • Background in internet development using a structured SDLC and Agile;
  • Strong technical and problem solving skills, and the desire / aptitude for continuous learning;
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience with C# .Net, ASP .Net, XML, MS Dynamics CRM and web services;
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular JSS, Core, Azure DevOps;
  • Working knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS;
  • Team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment with the proven ability to work tight deadlines under pressure;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, possessing a high level of creativity, problem solving and analytical abilities;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit suited for fast-paced, results-based environment, requiring flexibility to ever-changing needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and analyzes business requirements for web-based projects from internal stakeholders, building task lists and resource requirements for projects;
  • Creates functional design & specifications documentation and coordinates review, approval and rollout;
  • Designs and develops solutions utilizing the appropriate technology and creates unit test cases/criteria to verify all functionality adheres to specifications;
  • Develops scripts to upload/download data from web databases into internal systems (i.e. Great Plains, CRM);
  • Provides development support for the GS1Canada’s suite of internal and external web properties, including regular maintenance and upkeep of web applications, and providing support with respect to building and updating existing content as required;
  • Designs and builds databases to support web applications;
  • Troubleshoots, debugs and implements code as required;
  • Develops, enhances and supports internal Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM);
  • Troubleshoots issues reported by users of internal database tool;
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of related technology advancements and enhancements;
  • Performs various other duties as delegated or assigned.
