Description:

GTRI’s Cooperative Education (“co-op”) program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.
Work with our research engineers to develop adaptive wireless communications systems. Have you ever wanted to work in advanced wireless communications areas such as 5G, IoT, or Wi-Fi? As a co-op, you will get to learn skills in these areas to propel your career forward. If you have a good handle on the basics of Electrical and Computer Engineering and are good at learning new things, then you already have the basic knowledge to get started here.
Your tasks will include: Develop software for 5G, embedded systems, and servers. Programming and testing software. Embedded software and sensor interfacing. Work in an agile process using Atlassian tools. Work on documentation and designs.
GTRI’s Information and Communications Lab (ICL) Communications Systems and Spectrum Division (CSSD) researches and develops military-grade wireless communications. ICL CSSD fuses multiple technologies including software-defined radio, FPGAs, 5G, circuit board design, 3D printing, and UAVs to solve our customer’s most challenging problems.
