Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs CT imaging procedures. Perform X-Ray and DEXA imaging procedures as needed. Cross-train into MRI during downtime. Maintains records of examinations performed. Assists in Radiology Department as needed. Where appropriate by licensure and cross training, may function as a Radiology technologist. Responsibility to adhere to the Florida Hospital-East Region Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
- Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval.
- Basic working knowledge of PC is necessary
- Much of the work is non-routine. Employee must be able to work independently as needed to work without supervision and on call. Judgments must be made on a regular basis regarding exam protocols and imaging techniques, based upon patient condition and provisional diagnosis. Mature judgment is frequently needed in dealing with special patient requirements and assessing critical issues such as contrast reactions. Must be able to assess and maintain workflow in area.
Responsibilities:
- Performs CT imaging procedures.
- Performs X-Ray and DEXA imaging procedures as needed.
- Cross-train into MRI during downtime.
- Maintains records of examinations performed.
- Performs basic patient care with scope of practice and to departmental standards.
- Where appropriate by licensure and cross training, may function as a Radiology technologist.
- Positions patients and equipment, and selects technical factors to produce procedure images and data as needed to meet radiologist standards.
- Enters patient demographic information into logs and system.
