We are hiring a Sous Chef to join the Dining Services team at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. As the Sous Chef, you will report to the Executive Chef and be responsible for supporting the Residence Dining Manager in providing culinary leadership in the planning, production, administration, and management of high-quality food services.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in culinary field required
- 2+ years’ management experience is preferred
- Strong relationship building skills with clients and customers.
- Experience with food and labor costing
- Must be flexible to workday, evening and weekend shifts as required
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities:
- In the absence of the Executive Chef, plan, direct and guide culinary team in the execution of daily food service in a manner that meets and exceeds operational and financial targets
- Leads and manages 10+ cooks and general help staff
- Assists with onboarding, coaching, and developing culinary staff
- Assist with inventory and product ordering.
- Standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
