Description:

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
About the role
Temporary full time opportunity to and lead activities to ensure services and initiatives are culturally appropriate; including the coordination of continuous quality improvement initiatives, consumer engagement and liaison and staff education.
About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

  • To monitor and research Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community trends to offer sound advice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives in MNH.
  • Work with the facility and directorate based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability Officer’s across MNH on:
  • ensuring all initiatives and activities align with MNH strategic direction.
  • working in partnership with their facilities organisational improvement measure regarding cultural capability training and reporting that are same across MNH. The co-design of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health initiatives and projects in their facilities and directorates to ensure there is reflection of the key performance areas of Health Equity.
  • Ensuring they represent their facilities and directorates within their membership on a Health Equity working group.
  • Provide strategic advice in relation to the development of facility and directorate Reconciliation Action Plans.
