  • Full Time, Fixed-term contract for two years
  • HEW 8 + 17% of superannuation
  • Based at the Melbourne City campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University or other location. The position requires to work three days on-campus

About the Position
As a crucial member of the Teacher Capability Team, the Currency Capabilities Lead will take charge of steering and supporting the design, development, and implementation of Currency activities for the College of VE. By meticulously tracking and analyzing data from various digital platforms and fostering collaboration with the Quality and Currency team and Vocational Education program teams, including teachers and program leaders, this role aims to drive the enhancement of Currency capability. This approach ensures that vocational programs consistently align with current industry practices and standards as outlined by the Standards for RTOs and ASQA.
If you have experience in Vocational Education, Capability uplift, Quality, and/or teaching, along with exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to adapt your communication for different audiences, we encourage you to apply.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with industry representatives, employers, professional associations, government agencies, and educational institutions.
  • Experience in conducting ongoing research and analysis of industry trends, and technological innovations relevant to vocational education and training (VET)
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to identify industry-relevant skills, and competencies into VET programs.
  • Ability to lead regular reviews of existing VET teaching staff to assess their currency
  • Experience in providing guidance and support to VET trainers and assessors to ensure trainers and assessors maintain current knowledge and skills aligned with industry best practices.
  • Capability to collaborate with internal quality assurance teams to ensure VET teaching staff meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to proactively identify areas for continuous improvement in VET programs
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in integrating digital skills into vocational education and training (VET) programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and ASQA requirements.
  • High proficiency in the use of digital tools and platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in capability development, maintaining and integrating current industry practices into programs, working directly within the relevant industry to stay abreast of trends, technologies, and practices, or experience as a teacher, trainer, and assessor.
