Writtle College is seeking to appoint an ambitious, aspiring leader to the role of Curriculum Area Manager – Land based. We have a highly experienced FE team, experts in their chosen fields and our specialist curriculum is one of our greatest assets. We are looking for a curriculum expert to lead and inspire our Agriculture, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Conservation, Floristry, Dog Grooming and Land based Service Engineering teams to develop and grow provision.
You will have operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of the vocational areas, including the management of quality of the curriculum content and its delivery, ensuring that targets for recruitment, retention and achievement are met. You will also undertake a teaching commitment and act as a role model for delivering excellence in teaching and learning.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Principal – Curriculum, as a key role holder you will play a crucial role in implementing the strategic vision for the curriculum area, ensuring we maintain high quality standards and student satisfaction rates.
To be successful in this role it is essential that you are educated to Degree level, are in possession of a recognised teaching qualification, and an Assessor and Verifier award. You will also have strong knowledge of the FE ethos, and possess excellent people and financial management skills. Knowledge of Agriculture, Arboriculture or Land based Service Engineering subjects would be advantageous.
