Title: Curriculum Developer
Reports to: Digital Learning Supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree or College diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years in eLearning development or curriculum design, preferably in technical or product-focused industries. Experience in developing content for Hearth and HVAC systems is an asset.
  • Certification in eLearning development, Instructional Design, or Adult Education is preferred.
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline), and LMS management. Proficiency with Graphic Design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Sketch).
  • Knowledge of best practices in instructional design, mobile learning, and technical training. Visual communication skills, including strong understanding of visual hierarchy, colour theory, typography and layout principles to enhance the learning experience.
  • The Curriculum Developer must be capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines while balancing creativity with the technical needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, storyboard, and develop interactive eLearning content using authoring tools like Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or equivalent software.
  • Develop content flow, micro-learning experiences, quizzes, and games to engage learners and test knowledge.
  • Create curriculum and training materials in various formats, including self-directed eLearning, classroom-based, and virtual learning environments.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams (CFTs) and stakeholders to identify learning needs and ensure that training programs meet business objectives.
  • Conduct needs analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure that all content is accurate and relevant.
  • Work with external partners to submit learning content and enhance Napoleon’s industry position.
  • Develop and maintain the learning management system (LMS), managing course content, learner access, and performance data.
  • Update and maintain existing courses, ensuring content stays aligned with changing business needs.
  • Manage the translation of courses as needed for diverse learners.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback. Compile reports to evaluate learner progress and course performance.
  • Assist in managing technical training assets and ensure all training tools are up-to-date and relevant.
  • Plan and manage product launch education initiatives and on-demand training across business lines.
  • Support the creation and evaluation of eLearning content in collaboration with the eLearning team and other stakeholders.
  • Work with the technical team to ensure the smooth operation of the LMS and assist with learner onboarding.
