EXPERIENCE:

Sufficient aptitude and/or work experience to obtain the required competencies for the position is qualifying. Generally, this could include at least one year of experience performing related janitorial or warehouse duties.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

• A High School Diploma or equivalency.
• A California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s insurance policy are required.
• Ability to obtain certification for forklift operation and motorized pallet jack is required; previous certification is desirable.
• Certification as a Water Distribution Operator D1 or higher by the California Water Resources Control Board is a plus.

The Custodian & Warehouse Clerk position offers a unique opportunity to get your foot in the door in the water industry and demonstrate your work ethic while gaining valuable work experience. You would be the primary custodian for all District headquarters buildings and assist with routine warehouse and inventory control functions.
In this role, you would perform a variety of routine custodial, cleaning, and light maintenance duties on buildings and grounds, as well as receive, stock, and issue materials, equipment, and supplies from the warehouse and storage yard. You will help maintain accurate receiving and inventory records using the District’s software systems.
