Description:
NHFT is looking for Registered Healthcare Professional to join the Custody Healthcare Team as Band 6 Custody Healthcare Professionals to work within Northamptonshire Police Custody environments in Kettering and Northampton. This varied role involves the triage and management of detainee’s physical and mental health during their detention in custody. The role also supports the police custody processes under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, management of Officer injury related to their role and support of NHFT’s Liaison and Diversion Criminal Justice Service. Successful candidates will be provided with appropriate introductory courses in forensic healthcare.
The services will be provided by a rota system spanning 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The hours of the post are 37.5 hours per week. We require suitably qualified healthcare professionals with demonstrable evidence of skills and training. Previous experience within a custody environment would be an advantage.
Improve health outcomes of offenders coming through the police custody suite
Reduce reoffending & victimization by putting people in to the correct pathways
Increase GP Registration – register the unregistered
Increase engagement in health and social care services.
Reduction of frequent flyers by contributing management plans and engagement with Integrated Offender Management
Information sharing with GPs and developing offender information consent process
Improve response times to custody
A decrease in Forensic Physician time
Diversion from Accident & Emergency
Provide training for custody assistant
Enhance diversion
The post holder will need to work flexible hours to cover a 24 hour shift pattern
