Ellsworth Corporation, a global, industry leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer currently has a Customer Care Buyer opportunity. The Customer Care Buyer will perform liaison work between the Purchasing or Customer Service/Sales department and the Supplier. This role requires a technical knowledge sufficient to deal with problems concerning materials, shelf-life, supplier policies, and overall customer satisfaction. The Customer Care Buyer will need to function as part of Buying team to ensure complete coverage of the overall category and Suppliers managed by the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree (college or technical) and 2+ years of related industrial experience and/or training. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent at the discretion of Human Resources and the Hiring Manager.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • To perform this job successfully individuals must be proficient on a personal computer and have knowledge of ERP Systems, Accounting Software, Contract Management Systems, Database Software, Intelex, Design Software, Development Software, Distribution Systems, Human Resource Software, Internet Software, Inventory Software, Shipping Software, Receiving Software, Manufacturing Software, Order Processing Systems, Payroll Systems, Project Management Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing Software.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for day-to-day interaction with the Customer Service/Sales team.
  • Resolve any pricing questions, confirming current costs, and obtaining quotes pertaining to current products that are loaded within the Ellsworth ERP as well as providing this information for any new items for current Suppliers within the supply base.
  • Act as the main contact for the expediting of any orders within the system, this will include placing orders as needed.
  • Provide tracking information and order status/updates to our Customer Service/Sales team.
  • Develop and maintain Supplier Relationships at a Customer Service level with our Supplier Partners.
  • Work with our Suppliers to gain access to any specification / certification requests
  • Manage the opening and complete closure of Customer Service requests in a timely and systematic manner
  • Will work within the team to become a subject matter expert within their role. Will also be involved in forming and conducting the training for any individuals within the team and be responsible for any JWIs within this function.
  • Perform general office duties and other related functions, as required by the Purchasing Manager.
