Berrigan Shire Council are seeking a dedicated and organised Customer Experience - Cemeteries Support Officer to join our Corporate Services Directorate. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient administration of the Council’s cemetery management plans and the coordination of cemetery operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, empathetic, and capable of maintaining high standards of service in line with legislative and policy requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Council’s cemeteries including interment, scheduling of works, and records management.
- Ability to lead the planning and implementation of the administration of cemetery management plans, policies and procedures within legislative requirements and ability to solve complex problems as they arise.
- Ability to work in emotionally charged environments with an understanding of the impacts of the grieving process on work activities in cemetery environments.
- Purchase, order and receipt materials and services on behalf of the Council, with approval from authorised officers and in accordance with Council’s procurement procedures.
- Perform other office administration tasks including incoming and outgoing correspondence, records management, stationery, and equipment ordering, receipting, and answering telephone enquiries and calendar bookings.
- Participate as part of the Customer Experience team to deliver friendly and helpful customer service to residents, ratepayers and other Council stakeholders.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is a full-time position classified at Grade D, Entry level under Council’s salary structure with a salary range based on qualifications and experience from $62,770 to $70,648 per annum plus 11.5% statutory superannuation.
Conditions are in accordance with Local Government (State) Award 2023.
