Description:
ING’s 2025 Leap strategy is focused on business and customer growth. Our role within the Enterprise Tribe is to enable our strategy by building a simpler, more modern bank from front to back across Finance, Risk, Wholesale Banking and Customer solutions. This supports our strong growth agenda through the modernisation of core technologies, digitalisation of business processes and investment into new business.
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Product Owner , internally known as ‘Customer Journey Expert’ , who is passionate about all things data and delivery to join our amazing team. This is a permanent role based in Sydney.
You’ll at the forefront of our Enterprise Data roadmap and will have the opportunity to deliver transformative data solutions, which drive our decision-making and fulfil regulatory obligations. You’ll work together with other experts to achieve the squad’s purpose and have expertise in one or more of the following areas (Data Architecture, Data Warehouse, Data Quality, Metadata) to develop and enhance ING’s data capability.
Are you ready to make an impact?
What you’ll do
Be responsible for the full life cycle of data initiatives from inception through to development, and support, for work produced by your delivery squad.
Drive outcomes on behalf of the business by acting as an internal business consultant in order to improve business outcomes and assist in making judgements and managing the implementation process through to completion.
Translate business requirements into solution design in partnership with process owners, architects and developers.
Undertake technical impact analysis for new requirements, document solutions and ensure buy in from all parties.
Work across the wider project roadmap, and work within an agile delivery environment to ensure BI requirements are addressed.
Align various stakeholders’ differing interests to ensure that the squad’s interest and priorities are met.
Mitigate risk and manage regulatory and legislative requirements with any new changes that are brought into the industry.
What we’re looking for
A strong passion for data platforms and warehouses with recent experience in financial services or risk. Experience with regulatory reporting is beneficial.
Experience leading a team and/or working as part of a squad (and Tribe) within an Agile working environment.
Experience translating business needs into actionable user stories and creating documentation meaningful to both business stakeholders and developers.
Sound data reasoning skills, and the ability to make decisions and influence stakeholder expectations to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved.
The ability to challenge ideas constructively, suggest possible solutions and be held accountable for delivering results.
Experience in data governance, data modelling, data quality monitoring, data lineage or similar is essential.
