    We are looking for a Customer Metering Technician Trainee to join our team. Under the general direction of the Customer Metering
    Supervisor, Senior Customer Metering Technician, or other senior personnel, you will perform technical work using engineering skills
    and techniques. Expectations of the job include inspection, maintenance, and calibration of all equipment related to the
    measurement of natural gas. Must be knowledgeable in all of the Customer Metering processes and procedures. May be required to
    perform other functions that will be commensurate with capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Instrumentation Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology from an
    approved community college or technical institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing engineering designs and perform engineering analyses within scope of qualifications and experience.
  • Assist in installing, maintaining, inspecting, and adjusting as required, and measuring and controlling equipment, such as

pressure transmitters, recorders, remote metering, automatic controls, test equipment, and related equipment.

  • Assist in devising and installing special circuits or mechanisms to improve existing equipment and solve field problems.
  • Demonstrate ability and familiarity with the operation of personal computers in entering, processing, and retrieving data.
  • Demonstrate ability in the safe and responsible use of hand and power tools, test equipment, and power equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to use and interpret instruments and electronic monitoring systems related to the operation of natural gas

systems.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with purpose and function gas piping and tubing, fitting techniques, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and properties of natural gas.
  • Repair, calibrate, and final test all types of industrial meters.
  • Assist Government Inspectors when necessary.
  • Accurately and concisely record data pertaining to commercial and industrial meter installations.
  • Assist in the training of junior personnel.
  • Prepare commercial and industrial meters, indexes, and instrumentation for installation.
  • Maintain parts inventory of commercial and industrial meters.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately, in writing and orally, with co-workers, customers, outside consultants,

agencies, and the general public on work-related matters as required.

  • Operate vehicles in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner, performing minor checks and maintaining vehicle in good and

clean condition, drive defensively, and report vehicle and equipment defects and accidents.

  • Responsible for the neat and orderly housekeeping of work area, equipment, buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
  • Work in the Meter Shop and in a variety of other settings, such as commercial, industrial, and public buildings on the fieldwork

sites.

  • Work safely in all weather conditions and special working conditions related to the gas industry.
