Description:
Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family run business and currently has over 370 employees spanning 7 UK sites. The group’s activities include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production and co-packing solutions.
S&R Smith and Son, West Thurrock (part of the Lockwood Group of Companies) specialise in general haulage & distribution in and around the South East of England.
We are currently looking to recruit a Customer Services Coordinator role, based at our Essex site (S&R Smith and Son). The successful candidate will be dynamic, motivated and have the ability to work well within a team. This is a fast paced role that demands the ability to be able to prioritise and manage varied workloads.
You will be required to maintain and develop customer relationships, working with our team to ensure that all customer expectations are met.
Duties will include:
- Liaise with customers: daily calls to discuss operational requirements and KPI’s
- Build and Maintain long lasting client relationships
- Daily key checks: to confirm deliveries and subcontracted work is running to schedule
- General Administration Duties: Perform tasks such as data entry, responding to emails and calls, and processing necessary paperwork promptly
- Support: Training will be provided for cover and assistance within the team as necessary
Experience Requirements
- Able to communicate confidently
- Computer literate
- Excellent written, oral, and numerical skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of transport and logistics operations and services.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm or 9.00am to 5.30pm.
Salary: £23,920.00 per annum.
Holiday entitlement: 28 days (inclusive of statutory bank holidays).
