Description:
Napier Library is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team in delivering outstanding library services to the vibrant community of Napier on a permanent part basis (32 hours per week). As a Customer Service Librarian, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for library visitors, ensuring their needs are met and their library experience is nothing short of exceptional.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-facing, customer services position (library experience would be an added advantage). Other attributes include:
- The ability to work calmly, and politely and collaborate with a wide range of customers
- Experience in de-escalating issues and finding positive solutions
- Being warm and having an open personality with a positive attitude
- Enthusiasm for libraries, reading and working with the community
- Having a professional manner and are well groomed
- Being a great team player, willing to assist your team where required.
- Having competent computer skills
- The ability to work well under pressure and maintain excellent and professional communication with a wide range of customers and staff.
- Being fit and able with the physical demands of the job
- The availability to work weekends, both in the Taradale and Napier Libraries
- This role will appeal to a customer focussed individual who relates well to people of all ages and backgrounds, has strong digital skills and shares our goal to make a difference in our community.
Please note, this is on a set roster Friday - Monday working 32 hours per week. We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
