Job Description:

Community Engagement and Sponsorship Education

  • Sponsorship messaging is effective
  • Community understands WV’s identity in this area and the role of child sponsorship
  • Increased number of individuals, groups and organisations are motivated and see sponsorship as an asset to improving the well-being of children, especially the most vulnerable.
  • Community agree upon vision and key priorities for child well-being
  • Participates in sponsorship education processes and contributes as needed
  • Provides technical input on sponsorship messaging.
  • Maintains inventory of sponsorship community materials.
  • Provides technical input on sponsorship aspects of community engagement.
  • Participates in community engagement and capacity building efforts of partners and community groups.
  • Supports DF to coordinate specific needs of sponsorship communication at critical points-meetings with parent, etc.

Child Selection

  • RC distribution is managed well and RC benefit from project activities
  • Child selection criteria is implemented and vulnerable children are included
  • RC record management and Information of high quality
  • Sponsorship integration project plans are finalised; role and responsibilities of community, WV and others are agreed.
  • Children are registered for child sponsorship
  • Maintain budgeted RC number as planned
  • Plans RC distribution by Primary Focus Area and monitors RC inventory on an ongoing basic
  • Supports development of child selection criteria along with the DF
  • Ensures alignment of child selection criteria with WV intent
  • Coordinates overall process of child selection including timeframe, materials, documentation, etc.
  • Coordinates information management – quality assurance, data entry, record management
  • Develop long term plan for RC supply compliance plan with team

Designing integrated activities with children

  • Sponsorship activities are integrated within project activities
  • Integrated activity plan developed and implemented
  • Provides subject matter expertise for integration of sponsorship requirements with development process and child participation
  • Coordinates Integrated
  • Activity Plan to link sponsorship requirements with project or other activities

Monitoring

  • Child monitoring is community led and managed.
  • Capacity of volunteers and local partners grow over time for child monitoring
  • Child monitoring is integrated within project activity plans
  • Data quality is high
  • Child protection standards are met in sponsorship processes.
  • DF is supported to manage Child monitoring and follow up
  • Local stakeholders have an increased capacity to utilize monitoring data for interventions at a community level.
  • Provides coordination and support to ensure Child Monitoring Standards are met
  • Supports the establishment of monitoring processes and systems through CWB Committee including volunteer arrangements
  • Coordinates Integrated monitoring plan
  • Coordinates information management – Data quality, data entry, monitoring, tracking, exception reports, follow-up reports
  • Coordinates the incorporation of child protection standards in sponsorship processes.
  • Work closely with the DF to ensure CMS is integrated well as a part of community led child protection mechanisms.
  • Ensures that STEP data is made available on a regular basis for staff/partners review and decision making.

Sponsor communication

  • Sponsor communication is engaging and meaningful
  • Sponsorship communication is of high quality and timely
  • Sponsor communication is processed as per sponsorship standards
  • Sponsor visit is prepared and facilitated according to the guide
  • Ensures sponsor communications activities are designed in such way so as to contribute to life skills and development assets of children
  • Coordination of design, development, of communication materials, quality assurance and administration (including postage)
  • Coordinates information management, data quality, data entry, monitoring, tracking, exception reports, follow-up reports
  • Ensure sponsor visits are prepared and facilitated in a way to transform the sponsors as it is the ultimate opportunity

Queries & record management

  • Queries are responded to appropriately and on time
  • Manages queries including record management, assignment, quality assurance and follow-up timely response

Knowledge/ Qualifications for this role

  • Previous relevant experience, including at least one year of working in and with communities
  • Experience with Sponsorship activities, program planning, implementation and monitoring
  • Experience with faith, community based and child focused empowerment programs.
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Studies.
  • Strong understanding of community-led development work.
  • Creative and able to apply innovative thinking, partnership building and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong facilitation skills, including catalyzing, connecting, and building the capacity of community groups.
  • Good analytical and writing skills; Basic understanding of design, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity, abilities to work as a team.
  • Effective in written and oral communication.
  • Computer literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point.
