Description:
Who are we?
Dynamic Connections is a leading North American third-party logistics company that provides integrated solutions for our customers. Dynamic Connection creates, sells and executes intelligent logistics solutions that provide peace of mind and seamless movement of our customer’s products. Our consistent service and communication make us an extension of our customers, and provides them with a seamless, stress-free transportation experience.
We have recently acquired NALSI, North American Logistics Services Inc. This partnership will enhance our technology, load visibility and reporting analytics, to provide our customers with even better shipping solutions and customer support.
At Nalsi Powered by Dynamic Connections, we treat our employees like we treat our customers – with honesty, integrity, and respect. We enjoy working together and making sure every day counts. We love doing team building activities like, paint nights, axe throwing, intramural sports, potlucks and more. We have a positive, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture. Your success is our success.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a motivated Customs Coordinator to join our team. This position focuses on managing the customs clearance of import shipments arriving in Canada. The successful candidate will have experience in processing customs entries, classifying shipments, and resolving inquiries using customs entry software.
This is not a customer service role; it specifically involves Canada Customs-related tasks like rating, clearing international entries and integrating with our carrier network to provide top tier customs support. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in customs clearance, with a strong knowledge of H.S. Classification, trade agreements, and the customs entry process. But you could also be working towards your designation (CCS) with the goal of pursuing a career in Customs Brokerage.
Nalsi Powered by Dynamic Connections is a place to grow and develop a long and fulfilling career.
Responsibilities:
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU BRING:
- Exceptional attention to detail. This is your most important quality; you catch errors and discrepancies…better yet, you find them before they become mistakes!
- You have sound judgement, you can find discrepancies and catch anything problematic, making sure that work is done correctly (the first time) is essential.
- You bring 2-5 years of experience and have honed good practices in organizational systems, administration or an equivalent; but you are now ready to dive in and take on more responsibility.
- Proficiency with customs clearance software (previous experience with Customs CAD Entry software/CANdata/B3 Entry software is a plus) or a strong ability to learn new software.
- In-depth knowledge of the H.S. Classification Tariff and the General Rules for the Interpretation of the H.S. Coding System.
- Good working knowledge of trade agreements such as CUSMA, CETA, CPTPP, and others.
- Our business is very fast moving, and our team is responsive and readily adapts to new challenges. You are adaptable but a sharp study who can thrive in a culture of change but applies their learnings and experience as we grow.
- You can easily work both independently and as part of a team.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:
- Manage and execute customs clearance of import shipments arriving to Canada using Customs CAD Entry software/CANdata
- Perform accurate rating and classification of shipments, ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding customs-related issues.
- Maintain thorough and organized records of customs entries and documentation.
- Stay updated on current customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff classifications.
- Collaborate with team members but also work independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely processing of shipments.
- Ensure full compliance with Canadian Customs requirements and relevant trade agreements, such as CUSMA, CETA, and CPTPP.
