JOB SUMMARY
Central Washington University is recruiting a SCW EOC Advisor/Recruiter to join our Educational Opportunity Center team in Yakima, Washington. This role is an important member of our team as they enhance the vision for the University. The grant-funded role is a campus-based position, which means you get to see the lives you are impacting. We’re offering a salary, depending on experience, from $45,303 - $54,363.50 annually plus the awesome CWU benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish: reading, writing, speaking).
- Experience giving oral presentations to small and large groups in both English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of the unique needs of low-income, first-generation populations.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
- OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with federally funded TRIO programs.
- Familiarity with educational offerings of various state and non-profit agencies of the Central Washington area.
- Experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote inclusion.
- Life experiences that demonstrate an ability to contribute to CWU’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The SCW EOC academic advisor/recruiter provides educational outreach services to traditionally under-represented adults, promoting educational access and post-secondary educational involvement. This position provides individual and group counseling on admissions, financial aid, academic, and related issues. This position will represent the Central Washington University (CWU) South Central Washington Educational Opportunity Center (SCW EOC). Position will have frequent contact with incoming clients and address questions regarding program services. Position will also have contact with area high schools within target communities. Presentations, informational booths, and financial aid workshops will be given at various agencies within target communities established by EOC grant proposal guidelines. All employees are expected to support CWU’s commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment.
