Description:
Responsibilities:
- A Cyber Architect will have responsibility to ensure National Policing systems and services have a clear strategic direction for Information Security and Risk (IS&R), through enterprise security architectural services, design services and carrying out product assessment and selection, including:
- Serve as a senior expert to provide technical guidance and leadership on all aspects of security architecture.
- Be a key member of the PDS Enterprise Architecture community ensuring that security is a core part of our architecture model and keeping the community updated with pertinent security architecture developments.
- Define cyber standards, frameworks and guidelines, as well as a “route to compliance”.
- Provision of security design for National Policing solutions.
- Work with the SLT, sponsors and other stakeholders on the assessment and selection of security products for use in National Policing.
The CA will develop and maintain productive relationships within the PDS, and with police Enterprise Architecture communities, key stakeholders, partners, and suppliers to influence and gain consensus of approach on the DDaT “way forward” in meeting the needs of law enforcement from a local, regional and national perspective.
What you need to succeed in the role
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years of proven, demonstrable and current experience in a Security Architect role in large and complex organisation with equally complex service requirements.
- Proven experience of delivering security in one or more of the following cloud service provider environments: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong experience building security reference architecture for ‘all-in’ public cloud deployments and hybrid scenarios, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. This will include requirements definition, architecture development, development of use cases and playbooks, systems integration, and testing.
- Experience in defining and/or implementing security controls across multiple layers of the IT architecture stack.
- Experience of working in a security architecture team, including the production of design documentation (HLDs, LLDs, blueprints etc.), supporting cloud architecture, design, implementation, operations, and automation in Azure AWS and GCP.
- Strong knowledge and ability to demonstrate the use of the NIST Cyber Security Framework, mapping and translating NIST Cyber Security Controls to other frameworks such as ISO27001 and CIS Top 20 controls, including understanding of the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working with public sector/police/HMG clients.
- Demonstrate ability to think strategically whilst having a strong focus on ICT security and operational service delivery.
Desirable
- Microsoft technical certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, 365 Security Administrator.
- AWS technical certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security.
