Job Description
The Cyber Business Analyst will focus on ordering technology, processes, compliance, and operations, as well as operational excellence and scalability within Cyber projects.
You’ll be helping as bridge in between business and Tech from both ends. Success in this role will underpin the delivery of the organisation’s strategy, ensuring that the technology and processes meet the business and people needs, enabling seamless integration.
Accountabilities
- Support the implementation of transformation projects within the Cyber team with business analysis expertise
- Working closely with Cyber sponsors i.e. Head of SOC to understand business requirements for the service
- Support Cyber to define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), policies and metrics for services
- Generate clear visualisations and dashboards to communicate findings to key stakeholders
- Stay informed about emerging trends in cyber security and recommend innovative solutions
Duties
- Work with the accountable project manager, business subject matter experts and technical leads to ensure deliverables are fit for purpose (against to-be business processes)
- Analyse processes and technology tools as they are (As-is), compare them to the future and improved designs (To-be) and determine the necessary changes for arriving at the improved state.
- Document process information using visual diagrams in the form of business process models.
- Design business processes (To-be) and manage any subsequent changes to them.
- Examine processes holistically to understand the impact of changing them on people, strategy, systems and general business operations.
- Coordinate business processes signoffs on behalf of the accountable project manager
- Design a test plan based on business processes & scenarios, undertake hands on testing when appropriate
- Collaborate with project managers, cross-functional teams, business departments and groups.
- Assess options for process improvement, including business process modelling
- Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations
Skills
What you will bring to the role
- Understanding of security operations processes is essential to effectively analyse processes in the context of the organisation’s SOC activities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information in a clear and simple message.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
- Experience working with and reporting to senior levels and executives.
- Experience of working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology.
- Ability to operate effectively in an environment with ambiguity
- Experience facilitating and leading workshops
- Experience developing business requirements
- Ability to drive continuous service improvement
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English.
- Demonstratable experience of initiating and leading business analysis responsibilities as a self-starter
Desirable Experience
- Offer in-depth expertise and guidance in one of the key areas of Cyber: SOC, SIEM, Data Security
- Security qualifications i.e. CISM/CISSP/GIAC
- Interest and experience in the airline and wider aviation industry or regulated industry
Qualifications
Degree level preferably in computer science, mathematics, business management, or economics.
