How would it sound if there was a job opportunity to help secure the Control Center Operations that manage the constellation of Galileo satellites on behalf of the European Commission?
For our customer in the Space industry located in the Munich area, we are looking for a Cyber Security Accreditation Engineer with wide technical knowledge on the IT infrastructure with focus on security.
The operation and monitoring of the Galileo satellite constellation is subject to a number of security-related requirements, including those imposed by the European Commission. Both the site and the system itself must be accredited/certified in accordance with these requirements.
As an Accreditation Engineer, you will support the accreditation process and thus ensure the operation of the satellite constellation.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed university degree in the field of aerospace engineering, industrial engineering with a focus on IT security or cyber security or equivalent
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of IT security or cyber security
  • Technical knowledge of IT systems and security mechanisms, ideally in space or defense programs
  • Knowledge of audit standards (such as ISO 27007) and audit techniques
  • Good knowledge of quality management and documentation
  • Good understanding of complex interrelationships, ability to grasp things quickly
  • Analytical, structured and process-oriented way of working
  • Confidentiality and reliability
  • Negotiating skills and assertiveness
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and action
  • Ability to work in a team, independence and a high level of problem-solving skills
  • Very good written and spoken English skills

THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ARE AN ADVANTAGE

  • Knowledge of national legal requirements as well as international standards from information security
  • Knowledge of the current security situation and current security threats
  • Knowledge of the security-relevant network of the Galileo Control Center desirable
  • Awareness of data security
  • Certifications in IT security, e.g. CompTIA, TeleTrust, ISC² or ISACA
  • Good knowledge of the German language

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing the operational and ground infrastructures with regard to their performance and conformity with relevant requirements from the Galileo project and IT/cyber security
  • Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of (information) security measures
  • Conducting and advising on vulnerability and risk analyses
  • Reporting on the requirements review and risk situation to committees, security managers
  • Participation in board meetings
  • Transmission of data packages to customers and German authorities as well as support during the accreditation process
  • Management of documentation including preparation of the required documents at the appropriate times
  • Contribution to and improvement of the security awareness program
  • Conducting event-related assessments and analyses
  • Evaluation of security documentation and corresponding classification
