An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to join their welcoming team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Enterprise Architect in the implementation and management of an effective cyber security function, supporting the identification of potential risks and issues and applying fixes to mitigate these
  • Establish effective monitoring and testing of all elements of the ICT & Digital infrastructure (internal and externally provided) that support the delivery services to SBC and flag any potential risk or issues identified
  • Participate in risk management processes to ensure that the organisation’s mitigation of information security risks is appropriate to the level of threat the organisation is subject to
  • Provide the confidential investigation service on behalf of the organisation into potential malicious activity, liaising with senior colleagues and/or HR as appropriate
  • Provide expert advice on approaches to threat prevention such as web filtering and malware protection options
  • Feed into the prioritisation of projects and programmes of work by promoting works that provide the greatest benefit in terms of improving the organisation’s approach to cyber security
  • Provide regular reporting into various forums to inform senior leaders and members of the status of cyber defences and the approach to continuous improvement of them
  • Working with the Enterprise Architect, define, develop, and operate a framework of security controls and security management strategies
  • Obtain and act on vulnerability information and conduct security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems
  • Investigate major breaches of security, and recommend appropriate control improvements
  • Participate in forums including but not limited to, the Change Advisory Board, (CAB), Technical Design Authority (TDA), and Information Governance Group (IGG) so that information and cyber risk is considered in all change work
  • Support the HR Learning & Development Team to build learning opportunities for staff that help mitigate against poor practice that put the organisation at risk
