About the Role
Technology plays a critical role in the delivery of AGL’s strategy, helping our customers decarbonise the way they live, move and work and transitioning our generation portfolio.
We have an opportunity for a Cybersecurity Advisor to join our Cyber Business Enablement team in our Technology business area.
This role is responsible for ensuring AGL’s resilience against evolving cyber threats. Drawing on industry knowledge, you are a trusted business partner providing guidance to business initiatives and technology projects on matters related to information security and technology risk. This involves leading efforts to develop and enforce information security policies, standards, baselines and guardrails that safeguard our critical assets and data, ensuring that protective measures are commensurate with the threat landscape and our regulatory obligations.
You will build strong relationships across business areas and consult and guide internal teams on cybersecurity practices to point out potential security weaknesses, develop security requirements and minimize risk to computer systems. You will conduct cybersecurity evaluations and assessments and make recommendations for improvements to assist business areas in becoming more secure in their approach to technology.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build strong relationships across Technology and AGL business areas, and act as the key communication conduit between security teams and the business
  • Develop, collaborate on and communicate business cyber security strategies for managing risk and security threats to AGL
  • Provide cyber security advisory and security solution services to each of the business units including gap analysis and alignment to the AGL control framework inputting into the overall security strategy
  • Maintain situation awareness of cyber security issues, through our SOC and operations teams, and takes action to keep business leaders in AGL informed as appropriate
  • Provide security training to technical teams (business analysts, solution architects and engineers) and educate security communities of interest to raise security awareness of cyber security and information assurance issues.

About you

  • Certified information security professional or experience with security as part of an ICT role
  • Expert knowledge and experience in IT and/or OT security, ICT policy, particularly computer security, network security and computer network defence
  • Knowledge of frameworks, standards, processes, and methodologies, such as (Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF), NIST and ISO27001
  • Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business contexts
  • Excellent relationship management skills and experience working with both technical and business stakeholders.
