Cybersecurity Software Developer

In our cybersecurity team you’ll be helping to safeguard the financial system on which millions of people depend.
You’ll be making banking more secure by designing, implementing, and operating controls to manage cybersecurity risk. You’ll help define HSBC Group cyber security standards, deliver Global Security Operations ad Threat management services, provide round-the-clock monitoring and security incident response services, and oversee Network/Application/Infrastructure Security. The work you do will provid3e assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of security controls to Business Risk Owners.
The role requires a candidate with some experience and a strong desire to work with and develop full stack development, automation and integration skills, to join the Cybersecurity Core Engineering Automation and Integration.
The candidate will join a cross disciplined team of engineers responsible for Automation and Integration use case delivery, focussing on product integration, data and user interaction.
An ideal candidate will also have some basic knowledge/understanding across Data, Network and Endpoint security domains or at least a strong willingness to learn/develop in role.

In this role you will:

  • Be part of a team that performs sustainable continuous improvement, identifying and removing organisational barriers affecting the team, processes and products owned
  • Work collaboratively with staff within the platform to identify and agree improvement opportunities, manage stakeholder involvement, product SMEs and project managers
  • Maintain an agile mind-set by adopting the practices and processes identified as being required for our new engineering pods, leveraging agile delivery methods, associated frameworks (e.g., Lean) and Bank tools (e.g., JIRA) to do this
  • Understand and follow the Cybersecurity strategy and vision and also the Product Management direction
  • Supporting the team to scope and prioritise delivery of engineering solutions
  • Design and develop end to end solutions for infrastructure technologies automation for web and application products, covering the on-premise and modern container Infrastructure.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues hosting infrastructure across DEV, UAT, Production, Contingency environments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Cybersecurity/Development/Operations
  • Demonstrate understanding of Data / Networks / Endpoint security domains
  • Basic knowledge of Software architecture, design, development and delivery
  • Demonstrate capability within full stack engineering domain through front and back end programming skills, database design , solutions architecture, infrastructure delivery
  • Experience with front end/UI development also highly desirable and supporting technologies – i.e. Figma, Wireframing, HTML/CSS/JS
  • Knowledge CI/CD & DevOps, Agile testing discipline/methodologies
  • Must be committed to sharing knowledge and driving best practices
  • Experience in Python programming in scripting / web programming or strong background in related languages
  • Knowledge of API design standards, patterns and best-practices especially Swagger and OpenAPI 3.0, REST, SOAP, JSON, Microservices etc. desirable
