Description:

Overview:
Company 3 are looking for a multi-skilled Dailies Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an incredibly varied role, and responsibilities vary project to project. You will be required to work on your own, as part of a larger team or on multiple projects, so clear communication is vital. Working hours and location are also project dependent as there may be a need to travel with production, work near/on set or at our office in Chancery Lane. In a normal shift, a Dailies Operator can be expected to perform some or all of the following tasks, depending on the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Offload, verify and log Original Camera Files and audio from a variety of media.
  • Scan and log Original Camera Negative.
  • Split and tag clips according to camera sheets, script and continuity notes.
  • Sync sound and adjust as required.
  • Apply CDLs & LUT where applicable/required and compare to any stills supplied.
  • QC both film and digital clips for a variety of issues depending on the source media and note any issues.
  • Render, check, prepare and upload deliverables according to show spec.
  • Initiate LTO archives of all source media.
  • Communicate directly with the client relating to any questions or issues that arise during the dailies process.
  • Escalate queries internally as required through the proper chains.

Experience / Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience of 2-3 projects for major motion picture studios in recent history. Clear and concise communication is a must along with exceptional attention to detail as you will be expected to check your own work for mistakes.
  • Working knowledge of Film & Digital camera workflows are essential, along with a good understanding of the Postproduction and Colour Pipelines in general.
  • You will have some experience with On Set Dailies (OSD), Resolve, Avid Media Composer along with delivery mechanisms such as Aspera, Signiant and PIX using both Mac OS and Windows operating systems.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience scanning film
  • Experience with Colour Grading
  • Confident with Command Line Interface on Mac OS & Linux
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle

Hours / Working Pattern:

  • Dailies can take you all over the world, so a willingness to travel and work unsociable hours, which can include nights, where required is key.

  • Escalate queries internally as required through the proper chains
