OVERVIEW

Sunninghill Holsteins are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dairy Farm Herdsman to join our team In Grindrod B.C.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the care and management of our robotic dairy herd, ensuring their health and productivity. This role requires a strong understanding of farm operations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. A passion for agriculture and animal husbandry is essential. The applicant must have experience in dairy farming. The person hired will receive 3 weeks paid vacation as well.

SKILLS

• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Experience with Lely A4 robots (helpful) will teach
• Experience in treatment on dairy cows/calves
• Experience in artificial insemination
• Familiarity with farm machinery maintenance and operation.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
  Wage will be based on experience.
  The right candidate will receive a flexible schedule and paid time off.
  We are not currently hiring out of country.
  Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
  Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

• Manage a dairy herd of 105 cows
• Manage and operate 2 Lely A4 robots
• Monitor the health and well-being of the herd, identifying any signs of sickness or distress. Breeding (artificial insemination.)
• Must have knowledge on how to treat animals.
• Operate and assist on various types of equipment such as tractors, loaders and field equipment.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools for various tasks around the farm.
• Perform heavy lifting as needed for feed, supplies, or equipment.
