POSITION SUMMARY…

A Dairy/Frozen Department Manager co-ordinates the merchandise and activities of Associates in a department(s) of a Wal- Mart store through modular integrity, perpetual inventory, merchandise management, and customer service, while maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting the Management Team with the supervision of the designated Department, which involves: assisting management with the mentoring, teaching, assigning duties, recognizing, supervising and communicating with Hourly Associates appropriately and efficiently.
  2. Ordering merchandise on time.
  3. Maintaining zero pricing errors (i.e. Scanning Credibility Program).
  4. Adhering to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
  5. Adhering to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  6. Following proper procedures on Mark-up/Mark-downs, Price Changes, Signing/Flagging/Labels, Clearance, Competition Shopping and Competition Pricing.
  7. Listening to Customer complaints, examining returned merchandise, and resolving problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  8. Following budgets for the department(s), including the shrink budget.
