Description:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking 2 Wheel and Brake Technicians to join our Product Repair Station in St. Charles, IL. This role will focus on repairs and overhauls of wheel and brake assemblies for BA/GA, commercial and military aircraft where they will perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.
Duration of Assignment: 4 months
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at 3950 Swenson Ave., St Charles, IL 60174 / Building # 61-07

Position Responsibilities:
Cleaning/media blasting of sub-assemblies and associated parts.
Receives and prioritizes orders; Performs initial inspections on units received for repair.
Use a computer in a production environment.
Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.
Operates various hand and power tools, mechanical and testing equipment throughout repair process.
Perform tear-down of assemblies to the appropriate level dependent on repair scope.
Applying/using chemical solvents, sealants, coatings and adhesives.
Ensure that parts issued are correct for the specific assembly and are free of visible defects.
Assembles fabricated parts to relatively small or light sub-assemblies and complete units.
Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications of OEM or aircraft manual.
Inspect work for quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris)
Ability to gather, retain, and recall a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form for the achievement of work tasks and duties
Assists other technicians as needed.
Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience as a machinist, mechanic or other mechanical aptitudes
Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience not hard requirements but would prefer candidates from this background):
2+ years of mechanical experience as a machinist, mechanic or other mechanical aptitudes
2+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial
Currently hold an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) and/or an Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) license
Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
SAP experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift:

This position is first shift

  • Shift Start/End time: 7am-4pm
  • Any scheduled breaks: 1 hour lunch, x2 - 15 minute breaks
  • Expected Overtime: OT possible but not expected

FAA safety sensitive position. (This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing)

This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $19.00/hour - $23.00./hour
