ABOUT US
At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supports around 125 pupils. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and all pupils work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability. This role will have responsibility for teaching pupils who are aged 11 - 14, but work at a variety of different levels, so we welcome applications from teachers with Primary level SEN experience.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

Key Skills Required
- Have proven experience of teaching children with ASD in either a primary or secondary setting
- Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum and assessment procedures including working
- Confident and enthusiastic with the ability to create lesson plans to suit student needs
- Experience in teaching Music and Dance to a wide range of pupil
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Dance Teacher for Hillingdon Manor School you will be responsible for developing and improving the skills of the students within the school, whilst encouraging positive learning. You will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop. The pupils may display some challenging behaviour due to their different needs, so staff are required to have experience. Within this role, you will teach pupils in a fun and engaging way
The post holder will be part of a strong dedicated team committed to providing our students with the very best outcomes through academic and life skills studies. The role will be challenging but rewarding, working in a dynamic environment where you can make a real difference.
This role is offered for one year.
Your duties would include:
Plan, deliver and teach small groups.
Devise, implement and review individual education and behaviour plans alongside other staff, communicating regularly with parents, carers, teaching and clinical staff to ensure consistency
Positively contribute to the overall programme of learning for each pupil to ensure their progression and development whilst promoting the love for dance and movement.
Organise your classroom, resources and displays to provide a stimulating learning environment for students
Safeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times
