Description:
TRUCK & TRANSPORT APPRENTICE TECHNICIAN
Location: 8 Moore Rd, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Position Type: Full-time- Permanent- Afternoon Shift
Reporting: Shop Foreperson
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:00am Friday, 2:00pm to 6:00pm, occasional weekends.

Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable Truck & Transport Apprentice Technician to be located out of our Dartmouth Yard, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful candidates must be enrolled to a trades school for Truck & Transport (Red Seal).
- Must have a valid driver’s licence.
- You will have ability to diagnose and rectify faults, as well as experience in repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Your ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key as well as working in a team environment.
- You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:
In the position of Truck & Transport Apprentice Technician. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
- The service and repair of all Company vehicles to ministry standards and Miller Waste standards.
- Will be required to repair and road test equipment, including hydraulics and electrical, as well as shop maintenance.
- Will be required to conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
- Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct on-road service calls, as required.
