We are looking for a Data Admin Assistant to join Cancer Research Horizons Operations team

At Cancer Research UK, our focus is on beating cancer. As the world’s biggest medical research charity, we’ve helped bring eleven new cancer drugs to market. However, there is still an urgent need to bring more effective treatments to patients faster.
We have recently developed a new approach to driving therapeutic innovation through the creation of Cancer Research Horizons. We have brought together Cancer Research UK’s established drug discovery teams under one organisation and leadership team, combining our unique pipeline of world class biology, cutting edge technology platforms and clinical expertise to 1) bring new treatments to patients faster and 2) tackle the biggest challenges in discovering cancer drugs by seeking out more radical ideas and embracing risk in our bid to achieve success. As a Data Admin Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Data team ensuring the smooth functioning of our business and scientific systems. Essential tasks will include user management and basic application maintenance tasks, supporting our SharePoint, Teams and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) processes.
This is a great opportunity to work for the world’s leading cancer charity contributing directly to the support of scientific staff and processes. We are looking for a detail orientated, methodical and ambitious individual who is looking for the chance to learn and acquire new skills within system administration or data processing and analytics. It’s a new role for the team and we are always open to new ideas, new ways of working and becoming more efficient, so we are looking for someone eager to get their teeth stuck into a new opportunity and make it their own.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
- Willing to acquire new skills and knowledge in application administration and support through training and development.
- Ability to follow established procedures, seeking clarification if appropriate.
- Ability to complete data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good written communication skills allied with verbal skills to ensure effective and professional communication with colleagues.
- Some experience working with Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and Office 365 would be highly beneficial.
