The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data across business areas and quantifying the impact of AI initiatives in clear reports to enable data-informed strategy and improvements, enhancing customer engagement and directly driving sales.
This position reports to the AI Sales Integration Manager and is part of the Data Science and AI Team located in Cambridge, UK, and will be on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
This role will initially be a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • BSc or MSc in a quantitative discipline or field related to Business Analytics.
  • Strong experience in data analytics, with a track record of creating impactful visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Proficiency with data visualizations tools (at least one of Tableau, PowerBI or D3) and analytical tools (Python or Excel).
  • Strong business understanding and ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations and actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the Delivery Manager, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Data Governance.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of Sales and Marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply business understanding and analytical skills to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
  • Analyze the business and quantitatively describe and explain ways to improve the impact of AI initiatives on business performance.
  • Create visualizations and interactive dashboards to investigate existing data and AI outputs, to inform strategy and identify gaps and opportunities in data and business processes to increase impact.
  • Ensure data cleanliness, accuracy, relevance, and support Data Governance in data improvements.
  • Collaborate across teams to drive AI innovation, while expanding your expertise within an experienced, inclusive, and international team.
