Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Data Analyst is responsible for organizing data across the Heart and Vascular service line regarding to clinical outcomes. This role will be responsible role for not limited to creating visualizations of data to communicate findings, submitting data to outside regulatory agencies and national databases and assist in building and revising automated reports and ensuring data submission deadlines are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Health Informatics or other related field required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in Heart and Vascular specialty area or prior abstraction experience
- Understands healthcare systems including medical terminology, procedures and registry requirements
- Advanced proficiency with analytical tools and software applications
- Excellent communication an interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to scrutinize date to recognize and identify patterns
- Demonstrates interpersonal competencies such as problem-solving, negotiating, and communication
- Ability to organize workflow, function independently and timely manage work assignments
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the data process for all external databases and Reputational scores for CMS, HealthGrades, Leapfrog, STS and NCDR
- Analyzes data and identifies opportunities for improving quality of care and documentation affecting registry metrics
- Works in collaboration with data abstractors to ensure the integrity and validity of the data
- Assists in compiling statistical data for regulatory agencies
- Prepares and disseminates weekly/monthly/quarterly outcome reports as directed
- Maintains database and communicates to the Vice President any software/hardware issues in a timely manner
- Provides support to facilities for performance improvement activities and special projects as needed.
- Maintains professional growth through the utilization of professional organizations, seminars, in-service programs and other self-directed learning activities.
- Queries data and runs reports to identify opportunities for improvement
- Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions
