JOB DESCRIPTION:
Participates in the review of data and analysis for CMS/TJC core measures and other data abstraction as needed. Performs performance improvement and peer review activities for Quality Excellence. Performs and assembles data collection and interpretation for government agencies including third-party payers to maximize full reimbursement.
Advocates for the mission and vision for FMC and our healthcare community while accountable for assisting to improve quality, safety and reduce operational risk exposure through performance improvement processes and meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements. This role may be accountable to facilitate, influence, plan, consult, educate, and help to reduce barriers or support managers and staff as they incorporate principles of continuous quality improvement to multiple quality/risk related functions.
JOB-RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues;
- Demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities; ability to make independent decisions.
- Expertise in total quality management tools and techniques, Lean methodology.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Efficient time management, capable of priority setting.
- Working knowledge of government and non-government regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates degree in nursing required. Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of 2 years acute care hospital clinical experience required. Previous quality outcomes experience preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Ohio
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) encouraged, but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Interprets indicator specificity for state and national data submission, including The Joint Commission, Medicare, Ohio Department of Health, commercial and third party payers, and other data measurements and standards.
- Acts as liaison and verifies reliability and data submissions to a wide variety of sources including government agencies, outside vendors and third party payers.
- Researches, abstracts, summarizes, and analyzes internal/external data and validates prior to submission to required agencies.
- Serves as a liaison between various committees to facilitate communication and referral of case for further physician review.
- Maintains knowledge of and data collection and abstraction of The Joint Commission/CMS, and other regulatory agency standards/ regulations pertaining to the physician review process.
- Serves as a change agent by collaborating with other departments, frontline staff and others to influence change and the improvement to quality and safety.
- Target, facilitate, and evaluate projects that meet regulatory guidelines and support FMC initiatives.
