Description:

In order to continually provide our members with the highest level of service, we are seeking an experienced, results oriented and service focused individual to join our Data and Digital Information Technology team.
The Data Analyst will be accountable for improving the understanding of data, collection of metadata and improving data quality for the Credit Union’s digital transformation. This includes participating in the design and implementation of the credit union data warehouse and data virtualization tier to provide consistent insights and data-driven decision making across the enterprise. The position will work closely with our business teams to implement and improve data solutions including metadata, data design and an enterprise data warehouse.
Successful candidate will see the big picture to act in the capacity as the Data Team’s Product Owner to help improve data understanding and collection of metadata, enhancing data quality for the company’s digital transformation initiatives. Incumbent will participate in the design and implementation of the data warehouse and data virtualization tier, partner and collaborate with business teams to develop data solutions, including metadata management, data design, and enterprise data warehousing.
Must have strong data analysis, analytics and data design skills in order to collect and analyze system requirements, guide the maintenance of data processes and procedures and to guide the creation of visualizations of the data.

General Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or Business Management is preferred. MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus
  • Must have proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • 1-2 years of experience practicing Agile/Scrum serving as the Product Owner for an agile data team
  • 1-2 years of experience developing and analyzing user stories, epics and/or story boards working closely with business owners and development team
  • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira) or similar team-based planning, tracking, and collaboration suite, as well as adaptability to additional tools and processes as needed.
  • Experience with Master Data processes to ensure continuous improvement of master data definitions, types and categories, as well as the associated processes, and methodologies required to create and maintain the data.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data conversion and data integration patterns a plus.
  • Experience preparing deliverables such as business process flow and data flow diagrams, source to target mapping, transformation rules documents, lineage, business and technical metadata, business and data quality rules.
  • Must have a proven track record of working with business and IT partners in delivering solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, creating visualizations and presenting findings
  • Conduct statistical analysis and data profiling of all business data.
  • Analyze Affinity’s data, ensure data integrity, and oversee data quality assurance.
  • Use SQL, Tableau/Power BI and/or internal/external systems and databases to analyze data and/or produce reports that serve to further educate and inform our business into improving data integrity and data quality.
  • Evaluate business data to identify different characteristics and locate the similarities to find ways data can be integrated for better results.
  • Design comprehensive data visualizations, reports and other business tools to assist business managers and executives in making good business decisions.
  • Work closely with the business owners and consumers to ensure processes are followed and data integrity is maintained
