The Data Analyst is responsible for providing data-driven insights and support to technical projects within the Bayshore Home Care Solutions (BHCS) division. This role involves collecting, analyzing, benchmarking and interpreting data to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement. The Data Analyst will work closely with the enterprise data team, project teams and stakeholders to ensure that data-driven insights are effectively used to achieve operational objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & TECHNICAL ABILITIES

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Power BI, SQL, Python, R, Tableau).
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, deadline management, and progress tracking.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
    Employment Type: Contract (yearly)
    Hours of Work: 8:30-5pm, Monday - Friday
    Work Setting: In-person, office environment
    Location: Mississauga, ON with visits to branches & clinics as required
    Job Qualification

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Data Science, MBA or equivalent experience.
    Problem Solving
    Typical problems include identifying data quality issues, developing appropriate data analysis techniques, and communicating complex data concepts effectively.
    Problems are escalated to the Technical Program Manager or National Director when they require additional expertise or resources.
    Decision Making
    Decisions involve selecting appropriate data analysis techniques, interpreting data results, and providing recommendations based on data-driven insights.
    Escalation occurs when decisions require additional approval or impact multiple departments.
    Communication
    Internal: Stakeholders, cross-functional teams, program managers, senior operations leadership, branch leadership
    External: Consultants, vendors

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements and timelines
  • Conduct data analysis using appropriate statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data
  • Proactively identify and offer suggestions to mitigate risks and issues.
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that data-driven insights are incorporated into project planning and execution
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries and documentation
  • Continuously improve data analysis processes and methodologies
