JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting and optimizing Birchwood Automotive Group’s database management systems, working closely with IT leadership, the Data Analyst contributes to strategic planning, technology alignment, and operational excellence. This position involves analyzing business data, employing statistical methodologies to interpret and report findings, and conveying outcomes to stakeholders, thereby offering actionable recommendations to facilitate decision making processes.

Qualifications:

• Completed post-secondary education in the area of Management Information Systems, Statistics, Computer & Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or database administration.
• Proficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, DBT.
• Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience with BI Software (Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, etc) would be a good addition.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel enhanced features, an asset.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Results-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable database solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Participate in administration, maintenance, and optimization of all database systems to ensure easy accessibility, data integrity, reliability, security, and performance.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, remove corrupted data, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize performance including the review of root cause analysis.
• Design, implement, and document data architecture and data modelling solutions.
• Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Build reporting and analytics to support the business activities while providing recommendations to improve sales and service.
