What you will do:
This role designs, gathers, and distributes wide-ranging analysis, providing insights and recommendations to various teams within Cineplex Digital Media (CDM) and Cineplex Media (e.g. Product Management, Technology, Customer Delivery, Customer Success) as well as to customer stakeholders with the purpose of driving decision-making.
Responsible for requirements gathering/analysis and testing of various systems which support our lines of business. This individual will also be responsible for providing 2nd level support on these systems.
Supporting the Product owners, Business Leads, Data Team, and clients with management of data dashboards and reporting.
You will be the owner of reporting and the go to contact from multiple stakeholders. You will be responsible for staying aware of new data visualization tools/techniques and knowing when to best apply them to our business. This is the opportunity to see your business intelligence strategy come to life.
This is a hybrid position (3 days per week at the office). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary for design, build and maintenance of visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI, various software packages (e.g. Dynamics 365), and various API’s or data sources (e.g. various CMS’s, monitoring tools, databases) to visualize, communicate, and explain insights that help management, operations, and clients make smarter decisions.
  • Establishes consistent look and feel to CDM data dashboards.
  • The datasets are not necessarily clean and are across multiple data sources. Data cleaning and flagging suspicious data is needed and is a core part of the role.
  • Prepares and presents insights and analysis required to support strategic plans and initiatives utilizing financial and non-financial metrics to internal teams as well as clients, as needed.
  • Conducts regular business review meetings with Operations, Product Management, Accounts and clients (upon request) and take part in collaborative working sessions to align with company goals and objectives.
  • Identifies new opportunities and makes recommendations to improve profitability through revenue management or cost efficiencies at the departmental, enterprise-wide, or client level.
  • Drives continuous improvement across the enterprise through the creation, adoption and evangelism of automation tools and streamlined processes.

Education & Certification

  • Must have post secondary education in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or related field
  • Financial designation (CPA, CFA and/or MBA is preferred but not required)

Experience

  • 1+ years of working experience in an analyst/reporting role
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience preparing, analyzing and visualizing using Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • 1+ years of project management experience
  • 1+ year of presenting findings (strong communication skills)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Equally strong verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to write comprehensive, client facing reports to “tell the story” from looking at the data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Knowledge in the use of databases, data architecture, data analysis/query tools and proficiency in Excel
  • Hands-on experience with creating dashboards and reports on Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools
