QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • A strong desire to work within a mission-centric organization that empowers students to stay in school and achieve in life.
  • A bachelors degree in economics, statistics, business analytics, sociology, psychology, political science, public policy, education, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelors degree, candidates with strong professional backgrounds, above the minimum listed below, will be considered.
  • Beginner skills in data management and willingness and ability to advance in this area.
  • Professional experience (employment or internship) within an education-based nonprofit.
  • Basic knowledge of two (2) or more of the following: Salesforce, Excel, Survey Monkey, Tableau, SPSS, STATA, NVivo, or similar.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally in the English language.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, or walk for various lengths of time throughout the day.
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment to complete daily work responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate fax/copy machines, telephone, calculator, and general office equipment on adaily basis.
  • Ability to travel for meetings, agency trainings and other miscellaneous work assignmentswithin or outside the Greater Dallas Area. Reliable transportation is a must.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

At Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region (CISDR) we provide students and families with a wholistic support system necessary to achieve in and outside of school. The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the data governance and stewardship process at Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region. This includes collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, patterns and insights. Also providing hands on support to the organization to ensure the understanding of how to effectively utilize all databases, performing data migration from internally managed databases to state / funder managed systems, reviewing and interpreting data, performing audits of internal databases to monitor for compliance with all funder and regulatory requirements as it relates to data and reporting, and performing data entry as needed to support special initiatives.
