Description:

Job Introduction DAC Beachcroft’s Claims Solutions Data Analytics team provides analytics products to both internal and external clients in a wide range of areas, including performance and operational analysis, market trends, predictive modelling and fraud detection. This is an area of rapid development, with the team leading the way in making the Claims Solutions Group a truly intelligence led organisation.

We are now recruiting for a Data Analyst to join the Newport team, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of business, client and market data within the Claims Solutions Group. We also welcome applications from the Birmingham. What’s in it for you?

  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the employer’s business and the wider market, including predictive and outcomes modelling.
  • Draw valid inferences from analysis and develop solution focused recommendation, presenting them successfully to management.
  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations to inform internal and external clients.
  • Create data dashboards, graphs and visualisations.
  • Provide sector and competitor benchmarking.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture, monitoring, validation and reporting within the business, and to source relevant up-to-date market intelligence.
  • Working with colleagues to develop innovative analytics solutions, implement new intelligence processes and small projects.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of data analysis and manipulation, and the ability to work with large volumes of information from disparate sources.
  • Experience of using a range of techniques and methods when undertaking and presenting analysis
  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel to a highly competent level
  • Familiarity with a variety of data formats, including databases.
  • Experience of using national statistics, census and open data.
  • Experience of using applied statistics.
  • Ability to communicate and present complex information in a simple, tailored and creative way which can influence senior decision makers
  • Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • The ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple work streams.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues on day to day issues.
  • A strong understanding of legal sector or insurance industry business context, with the ability to apply this to the analysis.

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of using GIS, visualisation and statistical packages
  • Experience of SQL and VBA
