Description:
DATA ANALYST LEAD, NATIONAL CENTER FOR HOMELESS EDUCATION (NTCHE)
The Data Lead will oversee and implement all data-related activities for NCHE, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful data reporting to inform policy decisions and program improvements in homeless education. This role requires a strong background in data management, analysis, and quality assurance, as well as familiarity with education data systems and policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Education Policy, or related field.
- Extensive experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
- Strong knowledge of education data systems, particularly those related to homeless education.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, statistical software).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working with federal education programs and policies.
Location: Remote, must be authorized to work in the United State

Responsibilities:
- SEA Website Review (Subtask 5a):
- Conduct regular reviews of State Educational Agency (SEA) websites to ensure compliance with McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act requirements.
- Verify the presence of updated local liaison directories and homeless student enrollment totals.
- Review SEA report cards for homeless student subgroup data compliance.
- Data Quality Review Tools (Subtask 5b):
- Annually revise and update NCHE guides for improving CSPR and EDFacts data submissions.
- Develop and deliver webinars on data quality improvement tools.
- Database Maintenance (Subtask 5c):
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of SEA and LEA data submissions.
- Create national summary reports and state-level reports, including longitudinal trends.
- Organize and synthesize data quality notes from State Submission Plans and EDPass submissions.
- Develop interactive LEA maps using tools like Tableau.
- ED Data Tasks (Subtask 5d):
- Calculate and report Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) measures for the EHCY program.
- Update crosswalks of LEA homeless enrollment data with CoC and RHY grantee information.
- Respond to ad-hoc data analysis requests from the Department of Education.
- SEA Data Calls (Subtask 5e):
- Schedule and conduct annual data calls with State Coordinators to discuss LEA data workbooks and interactive data maps.
- Maintain detailed records of these calls and provide summaries to the program office.
