CONTEXT

Thales Romania is looking for a MID/Senior level Data Analyst for a permanent contract.
We are currently seeking a MID/Senior level Data Analyst to participate in one of our projects implementing several data processing software components involving multiple team members on data-focused missions (analysis, engineering, and science).
You will join Thales Romania, which specializes in designing, developing, integrating, and validating innovative and high-performance technical solutions for massive data storage and processing, in line with our client’s requirements in the energy sector.

Upon joining us, you will be responsible for the following missions as a confirmed Data Analyst:

• Understanding and analyzing the client’s data needs in line with their business requirements
• Arranging workshops with the client, if necessary, to refine data analysis and provide optimization proposals to meet their functional needs
• Transposing this analysis into functional requirements that need to be implemented for the service
• Validating these functional requirements into testable and verifiable specifications at the end of the service
• Implementing these functional requirements as software developments and/or using data analysis tools
• Estimating the technical efforts involved in these activities, as well as assessing potential project risks
• Keeping abreast of technological developments in the data field and participating in innovative prototypes.

SKILLS

Coming from a university or engineering background in computer science, you have a minimum of two years of experience in data and its analysis, as well as software engineering (software development, testing) on one or more projects involving technical teams working in the data domain. Knowledge of cloud computing would also be an asset, whether it is public (AWS, GCP, Azure) or private.

The main activities you will perform are:

• In-depth analysis of client data using dedicated tools and/or developing them (Python, R, Pandas, matplotlib),
• Delivery of analysis results in the form of written reports and/or oral presentations to the client,
• Use of state-of-the-art technologies dedicated to data storage (SQL, NoSQL, HDFS) or cloud equivalents,
• Utilization of data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI,
• Drafting of technical proposals aimed at improving the existing data solutions, from a modeling, storage or functional exploitation perspective.

Common skills:

• Strong understanding of data governance and security, with the ability to establish data policies and ensure data privacy and compliance
• Strong knowledge on Unix commands
• Strong Scripting & Automation (Python/PowerShell etc.)
• Strong knowledge in migration data on the Cloud, setting up data storage solutions in Azure
• ETL & Data Migration
• Proficiency in designing and managing ETL pipelines and data integration workflows

You have a solid foundation in software development and/or scripting (primarily Python and/or R), using dedicated development environments, in contexts involving quality and security constraints.
You are familiar with Linux environments (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu) and associated standard command-line tools.
You have a good understanding of generic principles of data storage, their modeling and visualization, in contexts involving minimal quality and security constraints.
You are familiar with standard software engineering architecture principles and can identify the impacts of data issues on software systems with performance challenges.
You have an interest in data-related issues and their enhancement through storage and transformation software systems.
You are comfortable working in English.
You are curious and rigorous.

French would be a plus.
