The Data Analyst is a key specialist in the Department of Marketing and Communications at NAIT, responsible for tracking and reporting on data from across our web properties. They are skilled at analyzing and interpreting large sets of historical and current user data and behavior. Their reporting provides strategic insights to the team, helping to identify opportunities for improvements on content, design, functionality and automation.
They are a highly collaborative, working with web developers, web designers, content creators, marketers, communicators, and UX/UI specialists on a variety marketing and communications initiatives. However, while being part of the team, they are also a proactive self-starter with the discipline to work independently to keep deadlines and projects on track.
The Data Analyst supports stakeholders across the institution and requires excellent communication and customer service skills. They are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and internal clients and increasing their usage of the analytics dashboards to make important data easily accessible. Presentation skills and the capability to convey complex, statistical data in an easy-to-understand way are essential.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Expert proficiency in Google Analytics 4, including implementing tracking managers, creating custom reports and explorations, understanding integration with various data management platforms like Big Query and visualization dashboards like Looker Studio and Power BI, and knowledge of e-commerce tracking.
Advanced knowledge in Google Tag Manager, including configuring dynamic JavaScript functions, event data layers, custom triggers, and variables, and understanding data tracking flows with various marketing and web tools such as Meta, LinkedIn, and Hotjar.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and understanding how to manipulate data using functions.
Knowledge of Google marketing products, such as Google Ads and YouTube, social media marketing platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn, as well as content marketing platforms like Site Improve.
Experience using behavior analysis tools like Hotjar is an asset.
Understanding of web design and development processes, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and programming languages, is an asset.
Experience with Salesforce and/or Marketing Cloud is an asset.
Strong time management and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on digital marketing and web analytics
Diploma or degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field
Certifications or training in Google Analytics Academy is an asset
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $72,614.62 - $96,198.96 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
