JOB TITLE: DATA ANALYST

JOB LOCATION: MUST be provided at the DSS/ITS Data Center located at 505 Clermont Ave, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11238 or alternate DSS locations within the five boroughs of the New York City area, as determined by DSS.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum 8 Years Experience with Oracle and SQL Server database usage
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access.
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation.
• Minimum 8 Years Experience with technical and user documentation, software conversions
• Minimum 8 Years Lead in the design of technical specifications
• Minimum 5 Years Exposure to environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid-range, personal computers, laptops.
• Minimum 5 Years Experience with DOT NET Development.
• Minimum 5 Years Experienced on both the Front and Backend processing of Web Applications.

• Develop system design specification
• Creates and prepares documents for the design of data reporting solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
• Documents specifications for databases, communication systems, data storage, and software configurations related to reporting project implementation.
• Prepares structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, computer or storage area networks.
• Compiles, maintains and documents configurations of the following: reporting requirements, databases, servers, security and network monitor systems, queries, macros, and reporting dashboard systems.
• Perform Reporting System Design
• Work with ITS staff (e.g, managers, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan reporting code implementation, enhancements and changes.
• Create, test and maintain the reporting code.
• Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms.
• Provide assistance to ITS technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, database, or IT issue by themselves.
• Contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new reporting feature or resolve a problem.
• Provide general programming assistance to ITS programmers/projects as may be needed.
