POSITION OVERVIEW:

OBAN’s Data Analyst role will focus on delivering high quality data related projects, services, and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in data or computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required government clearance.
  • Deep experience with statistical programming languages (i.e., Python, Java, or Scala), and other data analytics tools and software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Expertise in creating visual representation of data.
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders across a company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data across the business/contracting agencies; analyze data and translate the results into non-technical language for team members of all backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to capture business requirements/use cases/user stories and translate them into technical needs.
  • Build data models to organize important data for different teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques, providing ongoing reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and clean data, and review existing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain data security and confidentiality in all tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders at various levels within the organization, presenting findings and making recommendations.
