Description:

To strengthen our IT and product teams, we are looking for a Data Analyst (Processes) to lead initiatives focused on process improvements and process mining. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in data analysis, ideally previous experience in process mining, and general business process management knowledge. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our office in Basel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education and Work Experience: A university degree (Master’s preferred) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, a business degree with significant relevant work experience. 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or similar role (or equivalent experience in workflow-related enterprise applications).
  • Process Mining & Data Analysis: Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data (from logs, databases, or data sets) to identify patterns and trends and support data-driven process improvements. SQL and data analysis skills are required for this role: you have experience in a general-purpose programming language suitable for data analysis (Python, R), or alternatively previous experience with process mining tools.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Strong aptitude for identifying process inefficiencies, diagnosing root causes, and developing practical solutions.
  • Process Mapping and Documentation: Proficiency in business process management and experience with BPMN 2.0 process flows are a plus. (BPMN is not a must and can be learnt on the job.)
  • Project & Change Management: Familiarity with project and change management principles to manage process improvement initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: A solid understanding of agile and lean methodologies.

Responsibilities:

As the Data Analyst (Processes), you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to distil and analyze business requirements.
  • Performing process analysis using data from log files and databases (process mining).
  • Documenting processes, including creating process models using standard notations (such as BPMN, can be easily learned on-the-job).
  • Managing and coordinating business process change projects.

Additionally, you will:

  • Support business stakeholders (editorial, production, finance) in process optimization discussions.
  • Provide consultancy to editorial, production, and other departments on process-related matters.
  • Act as a key collaborator with the development teams that are working on workflow-related software.
  • Advocate for best practices in process management and continuous improvement.
