Description:

SUMMARY

The Data Analyst is responsible for the decision process about reporting solutions, architecture, and technology. The Data Analyst is responsible for query writing and report building and designing and implementing end-to-end reporting solutions. The Data Analyst ensures best practices, maintains standards, and plays a key role in shaping the organization’s business analysis function.   • Explores ways to utilize the capabilities of our current data systems to enhance the user experience for our employees and members
  • Defines and maintains data models (dimensional models with conformed dimensions, entity relational models), and Data Vault models to satisfy analytics requirements.
  • Assists in data mapping activities by specifying logic and business rules for transforming and preparing data.
  • Leads the development and publication of reports and dashboards utilizing SSRS, SSIS, SSMS and PowerBI.
  • Works independently with Business Analyst, and domain SMEs to understand requirements.
  • Defines and builds ETL processes to load and reconcile data in the warehouse.
  • Assists in developing governance processes around data management and warehouse development.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of credit union operations and knowledge of current industry trends as well as current methods and technologies that relate to Data Warehousing, data preparation, data presentation practices and operations.
  • Works independently with Business Analyst, and domain SMEs to understand requirements.
  • Works directly with vendors and business analysts to complete data upgrades and enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Experience- 2 to 5 years related experience.
Education- 2-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study OR 5 years of related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and skills in SQL Query, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); PowerBI, ETL Processes, and Symitar/ARCU
