THE OPPORTUNITY:

The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to fill a permanent full-time position. The Data Analyst’s role is to work on evaluating, reviewing, and managing database resources and services across the organization while ensuring high levels of data quality. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. Where required, the Database Analyst will design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases.
This analyst will work with department subject matter experts and Application Systems Analysts to gather business requirements to strategically design and implement BI software and solutions, including integration with databases and data warehouses by working closely with the Data Architect for the development of BI data models. This may involve the development of reports, graphs and dashboards and to be responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.
The IT Data Analyst will liaise with others in data analyst roles across the organization, providing guidance and support in organizational standard methodologies, tools, and processes related to data analysis. This position plays a key role in supporting the core IT functional processes of Database Management, Business Intelligence and Reporting, and Data Quality.
