    Role Detail

More recently, it became apparent that we needed to increase collaboration, expand and deepen our thinking, be more open about the challenges and opportunities we face, and look towards an approach that is more holistic and more joined-up.

This role will support the implementation, operational delivery, and reporting related to the Responsible Business (RB) Blueprint, which encompasses KWM’s commitments and obligations to a contributing to a fairer and more sustainable world.

With flexibility to be Melbourne or Sydney based, reporting to the Head of Social Impact and Shared Value, the focus of this 12mth parental leave will be to support the collection, analysis, and reporting of key data for internal and external audiences with key responsibilities including:

  • Coordinating the collection, storing and reporting (presentation of) data relating to Community (Pro Bono & Social Impact, and First Nations Peoples & Communities), Environment (Climate Change & Environment), and Marketplace (Responsible Procurement).
  • Collaborating with data owners across KWM to assess what data exists which relates to pro bono legal services, Fairer Futures, volunteering, climate change & environment.
  • Collecting information on all data platforms and banks across the firm which collect data relating to the RB Blueprint, including reviewing data sources to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • The coordination and collation of responses to client surveys, pitches and tenders requesting information on firm’s Responsible Business commitments, obligations, actions and progress.
  • Working with the Responsible Business Leadership Team to track the use of RB data and how it is shared, both internally and externally (i.e. reports, tenders, other communications channels), and identifying improvements and efficiencies, including driving innovative solutions with Technology team.
  • Working with the Climate Change &Environment Pod to support quality reporting against the firm’s environmental commitments and Science-Based Targets.
  • Tracking progress of key targets and metrics outlined within the RB Blueprint and related plans.
  • Work with the Responsible Business Leadership Team to identify opportunities for performance enhancement to meet evolving client commitments, obligations, and expectations.
  • Supporting the development of performance reporting templates, dashboards, and reports.
  • Supporting the collaborative effort to deliver the firm’s annual Responsible Business Report and CDP reporting, with support from relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the alignment of the firm’s RB Program of Works to external reporting benchmarks (e.g. UNSDGs, ISSB).
  • Supporting the implementation of evaluation processes (working closely with the RB Group) to be best practice in tracking, measuring, and reporting on progress as against strategy and outcome indicators.
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders in relation to RB reporting and performance.

About You
This is a hands-on role needing a natural collaborator with strong stakeholder and project management skills, and an ability to engage across all levels. As a team player, with a creative flair for data and the story it tells, you will bring strong analytical skills with experience in data manipulation and visualisation, along with confidence in data mining and segmentation methods.

We operate under a one team one firm ethos, which will celebrate your ability to collaborate and operate through a customer centric approach. You will also need:

  • Experience supporting Responsible Business (RB) or sustainability initiatives, particularly in reporting, monitoring, and implementing related projects.
  • Proven experience in handling data collection tools, systems, and reporting platforms e.g Salesforce; Eloqua; Power BI.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and functions and external stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment on objectives.
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of corporate frameworks (e.g., sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, or ethical business practices).
  • Ability to collect, analyse, and report data accurately for both internal and external audiences.
  • Capability to manage the operational delivery and implementation of projects.
  • High level of attention to detail in managing and analysing data to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presentations, and updates for various audiences.
  • Ability to identify and address challenges or obstacles during implementation and delivery phases with a solution focussed approach.
